Description

Asimina seems but is not a vulnerable girl in 1956. Her strength is revealed when she decides to ensnare the hopeful Epameinondas Agapitos in her webs.

On the other hand, Epameinondas Agapitos seems but is not a harmless, indecisive creature. He will discover his darkness when he chooses revenge over forgiveness. And his mother Melpo seems but is not a classic Greek mother-in-law. She surpasses herself when faced with an unforgivable mistake of her daughter-in-law.

A catalyst for the self-discovery of all of them is a fishbone that determines the flow of the story and Valantis Alexiou, the unbreakable friend of Epameinondas. What will happen when the heroes succumb to their passions, and what will be the consequences for Roxani and Alexandra, the two daughters of the Agapitos couple? And Asimina's grandson, Vardis, also a victim of foreign sins, must he take revenge or forgive?

A story about the eternal dilemma of free will, divine justice, and the subtle penalties of the universe. A book that proves that God is simply the One who counts the chips when the game of life is over, rewarding the honorable and punishing those who play with marked cards.

Two small excerpts from the book:

Unforgivable… This is how Roxani always referred to the late Asimina, as her grandmother Amalia also addressed her above her grave. Unforgivable by gods, saints, and humans.

At other times, she called her a snake, an adder, a cursed being, adopting the nicknames that Melpo, her grandmother from her father's kin, had assigned her. And whenever she uttered such a word, she felt a crack in her insides, until she stopped sensing her body and hoping that one day her flesh would feel love. She didn’t want to feel it, so as not to resemble her.

Between a woman's legs lies the greenhouse of life. The womb hungers for seed, but we don’t allow just anyone to desecrate it. The woman is trained to get used to her hunger. Love is the reins of her flesh...
