Description

Description

A black shadow glides across the serene waters of the Bay of Naples, or is it hovering? It is a black ship, which those who managed to see it in the blue, deep night liken to a silent, beloved woman, with a solid yet ethereal presence.

Collective hallucination, ominous omen or warning, its image shakes the very foundations of the city's life and fuels the sense of insecurity among its inhabitants. The themes of uncertainty, both existential and otherwise, of the unexpected event that derails life from the tracks of everyday existence, form the essential elements of Poulièce's poetic works.

The Black Ship consists of eight stories, which were published in 2008, nearly thirty years after Dark Water. Eight Kafkaesque tales, enigmatic, mysterious, allegorical, written in the dark, dreamlike, unparalleled style of the Italian author.
