My beloved lady, I went through great longing writing these so-called sonnets that hurt me deeply and cost me dearly, but the joy of offering them to you is greater than a meadow.
When I first thought of it, I knew well that by the side of each one, from selective affection and elegance, poets of all times placed rhymes that sounded like silver, crystal, or cannon.
I, with much humility, created these sonnets from wood, gave them the sound of this opaque and pure substance, and so they must reach your ears.
You and I walking through forests and sandy shores, lost lakes, ashen backs, gathered pieces of pure wood, planks left in the flow of water and changing weather.
From such soft remnants I constructed, with axe, knife, and pocketknife, these carpentries of love and crafted little houses of fourteen boards to live inside those eyes of yours that I adore and praise.
With this passionate justification, I deliver to you this embroidery of wooden sonnets, which managed to stand on their feet because you gave them life.
