It has been said and reiterated excessively that the initiatory truth is not contained in books and it is true that the uncontrolled and the ease of printing through today's means of a book is, in most cases, at least a trap for wasting time.
The contemporary reader, who wishes to be informed about the subjects that concern him regarding Mystagogy, is surrounded by a multitude of publications that are written based on the modern spirit (impressive, easily understandable, short, promising many practical results, and all under the guise of a moral perfection and spiritual enlightenment) do not, in fact, have in most cases any result other than fanaticism, the cultivation of superstition, and generally the provision of food for the tastes of the traditionally and anti-mystically living modern man.
If this, however, is the general rule for most of the writings we study, there do exist certain exceptions. In the latest books, the reader will not find pleasant and flattering promises, he will not be provided easy recipes for acquiring "transcendent powers," he will not cultivate the sense of privilege and egotistical superiority over his fellow men, but on the contrary, aching wounds will be revealed to him, he will be shown the way to rid himself of the myriad superstitions and prejudices, moral, scientific, social, initiatory, etc., so that by applying these suggestions, the chosen and mature for true and serious initiation may become the pure and suitable vessel, the first matter upon which a higher spiritual experience may not reflect into the void but meet homogeneity and coordination, in order to give birth to the new man, the genuine Initiate.
Among these rare books is the present one. We do not exaggerate if we say that it should be the guide for anyone seeking serious initiatory training and the fundamental acquisition for any initiated person. Its author, the illustrious RENÉ GUÉNON, whose biography we shall reserve for another opportunity to compose, and his entire initiatory career, are suitable for the fruitful utilization of the principles presented in it.
We are fortunate because we have been given the opportunity to make this highly valuable work of the famous French thinker and Mystic known in the Greek region. May the ideas developed in it bear fruit in the souls of the few chosen ones and find the appropriate reflection and enthusiasm.
