The Staub Chistera shallow cast-iron casserole has a black matte enamel interior. The heavy cast-iron lid and the raised ridges on the inside create a closed circuit that retains moisture and enhances flavours, while heat is distributed across the entire surface. It is suitable for all types of cooktops, including induction, and for oven use, as well as for slow cooking, stews and braising.

Gradual heating and cooking over medium heat are recommended. Using oil helps create a smooth, naturally non-stick surface in the pores of the matte enamel coating. It is not dishwasher-safe.
