Bought size 46.5 for €75 — what a steal!! I’m an amateur runner (3:15 marathon, 1:28 half) and I wanted a comfortable sneaker for the next day at the office, after a hard workout, or a shoe for trips that can also handle an easy run (5'15-5'30 for me). I should note that I want room in the front because of an issue with a bunion on one foot. I got this one after the recommendation of the guys at the performance store in Thessaloniki, who are pioneers in Altra and generally taught me a lot about different drops (I highly recommend them). So the shoe is a top all-day sneaker. I had worn Altra before, with the Torin in 2020, but back then I went straight into the deep end with zero drop and struggled a bit. In general, you need a slow transition as the drop gets smaller!! Now for the analysis: stable yet soft ride, comfortable, with sufficient responsiveness, you feel the cushioning in the arch and the company’s classic toebox. 4 mm drop, not Altra’s classic zero drop, so your foot still works while you wear it. Also very good breathability because I want it now for summer. It has a low stack, <4 cm, which I like because I also get some ground feel!! So far I’ve used it for a recovery run at 5'40 and I was fine, and of course on a trip with lots of walking and it was superb there too. I haven’t tried it at faster paces, but for the uses I bought it for, I recommend it 100%.
