Description

Description

Fifteen portraits of people, fifteen cultural scenarios, fifteen images that perhaps reflect the realities of the early Post-Dictatorship period: its continuities and ruptures, its dreams and dead ends, the adjustment problems of immigrants in their homeland after returning.

Ultimately, those things that were tossed into the obscurity of a memory that delights in flattering. Fifteen stories that take place in front of a kiosk in the Attica countryside in April 1975 and constitute a fictional reworking mostly of real events and situations. Glimpses and flashes of a world that no longer exists. Or does it?

A composition of mnemonic fragments and archival documents, the book balances as a bet between history, public history, and literature. It represents a consciously risky endeavor of cultural history of the Post-Dictatorship, as it seeks to map the emotional qualities, priorities, and (sometimes carefully hidden under the rug) contradictions of the era, starting from the keen observations of Enzo Traverso and Ivan Jablonka.
