After the successful scientific symposium titled "Lost in Translation: (Re)examining the Unpublished Translations of Ancient Drama," the Laboratory of Ancient Drama and Theatre Studies Research of the Department of Theater Studies at E.K.P.A. offers the general public two emblematic theatrical translations of ancient drama that have until now been unpublished in any print or electronic form: Aeschylus' Oresteia, in the renowned translation by Georgios Sotiriadis, and Euripides' Orestes, in the translation by Georgios Sevastianoglou.

The translation by Georgios Sotiriadis sparked the "Oresteia" episodes when it was performed in 1903 at the Royal Theatre. The composition, editing, and introduction are by Anna Mavroleon, PhD in Theatre Studies and lecturer in the Master's Program of the Department of Theater Studies at E.K.P.A.

The translation by playwright Georgios Sevastianoglou directed the work in 1982 at the National Theatre, with the composition, editing, and introduction by Konstantina Ziroplou, Associate Professor in the Department of Theater Studies at the University of Patras.

The editorial supervision of the two translations is by Professor Kaiti Diamantakou, Director of the Laboratory of Ancient Drama and Theatre Studies Research. These translations are part of a research program aimed at the circulation and evaluation of unpublished translations of ancient drama.

The publishing collaboration with KAPA Publishing aims to recover and publish as many unpublished theatrical translations of ancient drama as possible, contributing to the study of the reception of ancient drama and the history of Greek theatre.
