The two men appeared out of nowhere in the narrow, moonlit alley, a few meters apart. "We, Daedalus, better wait in the hall," Estia suggested, obviously thinking it would be indiscreet to stay in the room while Harry exchanged tender and perhaps tearful farewells with the Dursleys. "It's not necessary," Harry murmured. However, Uncle Vernon made any explanation unnecessary by saying loudly, "Goodbye, then, little one." Then, he reached out his right hand to shake Harry's hand, but at the last moment he changed his mind, closed his fist, and began to move his hand back and forth like a metronome.
