Description

In the first part of the book, the different and varied aspects of right-wing ideology are presented. From the ideology of the leadership of New Democracy to the Right's relationship with social sciences, historical revisionism, and the extreme Center. If there is a thread that connects all these diverse elements, it is the common class basis that defines the common negative targeting: anti-communism, anti-leftism.

Initially, it was meant to be a book solely about the Greek right and its ideology. However, it became clear along the way that a more detailed reference to the negative objective of the Right, with which it self-defines, could not be omitted. Thus, the "anti" of "anti-communism" in the main title was placed in parentheses.

The second part, concerning the left and its ideology, has a more apologetic character – perhaps inevitably, as the empirical-historical starting point is the great deadlocks of the Left present, both in Greece and internationally. There, the autobiographical aspect is less indirect. Almost all the issues of the Greek Left addressed in this part are those the author has experienced firsthand, even those related to the vast period during which he was not organized, from 1980 to 2012.
