The manga adaptation of the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning classic Ronin by Frank Miller.
A cursed Ronin. Psychological manipulation by an emotional AI. A security commander who becomes a savior. And a post-apocalyptic biotech warfare in the demon-infested halls of twenty-first-century New York City, unknowingly started by the once benevolent Aquarius Corporation.
Frank Miller, a Hall of Fame member of the Eisner Awards, has been cited as an inspiration for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Samurai Jack. Now, 40 years later, Miller, along with his team including Philip Tan and Daniel Henriques, returns to the world of Ronin, continuing his story for a new generation with Frank Miller’s Ronin Rising.
With Philip Tan and Daniel Henriques providing the designs and inks for chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5 of the manga, and Frank Miller himself illustrating chapters 4 and 6, Frank Miller’s Ronin Rising is a visually stunning work, featuring high-intensity battle scenes that seem to leap off the page.
Miller and his team skillfully and carefully continue the story of Ronin, immersing the reader in a post-apocalyptic reality just as they did with the original series published in 1983–84 by DC Comics, which is widely regarded as one of the most influential authentic works.
This economical manga edition pays tribute to Frank Miller’s influences for the original Ronin, appealing both to Frank Miller fans and manga readers.
