Microfiber – what does this mean?

Microfibers are very fine artificially created fibers, usually made from polyester or polyamide. When compared to silk fibers, they are 2 times finer, 3 times finer than cotton fibers, 8 times finer than wool, and 100 times finer than human hair. Products made from microfibers are incredibly soft to the touch and very lightweight. The fabrics also have a wonderful drape.
