Microfiber – what does that mean?

Microfibers are very fine artificially created fibers, usually made from polyester or polyamide. When compared to silk fiber, they are 2 times thinner, 3 times thinner than cotton fiber, 8 times thinner than wool, and 100 times thinner than human hair. Products made from microfibers are incredibly soft to the touch and very lightweight.

What does this mean for a quilt?

It is very lightweight like a feather, soft and thus hugs the body. In the summer months, it offers coolness and comfort as it allows the skin to breathe, keeping it dry and cool, while in winter it acts as a very good insulator and is soft without giving a feeling of coolness or chill.
