5/5 because it is a beauty. But it urgently needs a good cooler and good ventilation, because it easily reaches 85 degrees. Although it is still within limits, it is not good at all for the silicon and in the long term it will get damaged.

Did you really get as far as the reviews for this processor? Wherever you find it, get it. It feels NOTHING. Just choose a good GPU so you don't have a bottleneck. I have it with the Asus 9070XT TUF and I think they work perfectly together. Temperatures with Noctua NHU12S have reached up to 80 degrees at peak, full load. Other than that, it is unfazed. It's an X3D CPU, so you mainly get it for gaming, due to its 3D Vcache memory. Don't start writing that it takes 10 seconds longer to render videos... That's all.

    Pros:
    -Incredible Processor for Gaming
-For those who care about performance in applications outside of Games, it has improved significantly compared to the 7800X3D
-It doesn't have high power consumption
    -Unlocked overclocking for enthusiasts
-In case of need, it has an iGPU

    Cons:
-High price as long as the 7800x3D is still on the market. 1 to 4% difference in performance in Games, not worth a 100€ price difference. Of course, there is about a 15% difference in Apps.
-If you don't care about Games, it is NOT a good choice at all.

If your monitor is 1080p/1440p, prefer it. If you play in GPU limited scenarios (ultra settings + 4K) it doesn't offer anything special compared to much cheaper options. Overall, a powerful processor, responsive, (very) slightly overclockable, efficient even at <90W, without any notable/striking disadvantage in gaming and non-gaming situations.

At this moment it is the best processor for gaming, extreme performance, and if you get it at a good price you are smart. I got it for €300, totally worth it I can say. In contrast to the 9850X3D, it is about 5-10% max better but instead of paying €450 like the 9800X3D, you pay €550 for this little performance increase. My opinion is that it is not worth paying €150+ more for the 9850X3D, they are almost the same in everything with very unnoticeable differences

The processor is a beast. I made the switch from the old i5 8600k because now I have a lot of work in editing, video, and photo besides gaming. I can't max it out! I've only seen it at full load in benchmarks, and even then with a 360 water cooler it hit 68 degrees. In gaming, it goes up to 62-64 and runs games smoothly. In editing, it handles 4k editing effortlessly. It's like it's telling you to give it more... Simply excellent!!!

For anyone who has money to spend, there is nothing else for gaming; combined with an RTX 5080, it crushes all games at 4K resolution. So far, in every game I have played, it hasn't dropped below 180-200 fps, and in the very demanding AAA games, it runs at 70-80 fps natively. It is faster in gaming than the newer 9950x3d

Its performance is impressive and with a good motherboard and memory as well as a fast SSD it really delivers top performance EVERYWHERE. Oh, and with a good water cooling system, idle at 34 degrees, full load at 75, in demanding games close to 60, not higher!

Excellent processor, I have paired it with the Arctic liquid freezer 3 pro (360mm) and so far, on default settings, it barely goes over 60 degrees. Only when it does pre-load shaders and reaches 100% usage does the temperature rise. I have tried many games like Last of Us, RDR2, AC Valhalla, etc., and it works flawlessly. I highly recommend it for gaming!

Very, very close to the 9950X3D for the 200€ price difference and at the same time quite close to the older and cheaper by 100-150€ 7800X3D. At the price it is now or at least when I bought it, it’s just fine. The reason I chose this one instead of the two I mentioned earlier is somewhere in the middle. I’m not going to take full advantage of the 9950X3D’s capabilities to pay the extra 200€, since I only do gaming (I don’t stream or use very heavy programs on the PC), and on the other hand, even though as I said the differences between the 7800X3D and 9800X3D are quite small, I saw it as a more future-proof purchase. Other than that, the 7800X3D may generally be the best choice right now with current prices.

From 7800x3D to 9800x3D the difference is noticeable!
Very good temperatures (better than the 7800x3D)
The difference in multitasking with the 7800x3D is also huge but in general it's not really for a lot of multitasking..
For its price, with eyes closed.. for AMD gaming

Extremely powerful processor for gaming, with very good overclocking (+200 MHz, -20 All Cores) on an ASUS motherboard and temperatures (~47 idle and up to 75 in games) with a 240mm AIO.

Purchased at €460. If you want similar performance exclusively for gaming but don't want to spend that much money, I recommend the 7800X3D while it's still available on the market for around €330 new.

the processor is simply amazing, used exclusively for gaming. At the beginning of the upgrade, until I changed my graphics card, I was still using the 1060 and even then I saw a big difference in Forza Horizon 4; on medium 4K I had 30fps with a lot of lag. As soon as the processor was installed, everything on high 4K, 45 fps without lag. When I installed the 5080, it flew. Max everything without exceeding 60% load, 4K all max, 100fps and above, and with the temperature during gaming with the Lian li HydroShift LCD 360R water cooling and the Lian li dynamic evo xl case, now in the summer during gaming I see 68 to 70 degrees max. In optimization specifically, it goes up to 85 and max load 158w without having changed absolutely anything in the settings of the asrock x870e taichi motherboard. If I were to deduct a star, it would be for the temperature, but I don't deduct it just because it simply doesn't lag anywhere and is worth every euro. It's a future-proof processor

gaming, ai server, video compression, etc.
I have it with a Noctua NH-D15. Temperatures are normal.
When compiling shaders it hits 95c which is normal. In games, during winter 60, summer 70.

Very fast for gaming but very limited capabilities for multitasking. 5 stars for low-clocked cores with very low silicon quality and a weak memory controller (it has the same IO die as Zen4) is excessive. It's only worth it if you do almost exclusively gaming on your PC.

It is a very powerful processor, in winter it runs at 38 degrees with simple internet use and 60 in gaming with ultra graphics, and now in the summer 48 for simple use and 70 in games. I use it with a Deepcool LQ360 triple fan liquid cooler. I play Counter Strike at 400fps and the maximum CPU usage reaches 25% in a game that mainly uses the CPU. Its performance is impressive and with a good motherboard and memory as well as a fast SSD it really delivers top performance EVERYWHERE. Oh, and with a good water cooling system, idle at 34 degrees, full load at 75, in demanding games close to 60, not higher!

The best processor for gaming. Everyone knows that it's the best right now, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for!

Amazing performance! Even with undervolt settings, the processor achieves very good performance in 4k gaming as well as in stability tests via Cinebench 2024, maintaining temperatures <= 70C.

The number 1 processor for gaming in '25, what more do you need to say. Get a good closed-loop liquid cooler, e.g. Lian Li, and you'll be set.

Excellent processor. Very powerful. Its temperature at idle ranges around 36 to 40°C, in gaming it reaches 60 to 70°C depending on the game.

BEAST - Runs World of Warcraft flawlessly at 4k120 with an average of 105fps with everything on Ultra High. Additionally, with good liquid cooling I have excellent temperatures. Also excellent in productivity and statistical packages, lightning fast. Top processor, words are unnecessary.

The best money I ever spent. With an AMD card, everything runs smoothly. You can set graphics to ultra and it doesn't lag anywhere, it's worth 1000%

the processor is simply amazing, used exclusively for gaming.

Very powerful for anything that uses the GPU.
gaming, ai server, video compression, etc.

I switched from an i5 and the difference is huge

Excellent product, it blows clean whatever you throw on it, relatively cool, under heavy load not above 75c, idle at 43-50 depending on the space, gaming (3440x1440) at 60-65 max.

  • 5/5 because it is a beauty. But it urgently needs a good cooler and good ventilation, because it easily reaches 85 degrees. Although it is still within limits, it is not good at all for the silicon and in the long term it will get damaged.

  • Did you really get as far as the reviews for this processor? Wherever you find it, get it. It feels NOTHING. Just choose a good GPU so you don't have a bottleneck. I have it with the Asus 9070XT TUF and I think they work perfectly together. Temperatures with Noctua NHU12S have reached up to 80 degrees at peak, full load. Other than that, it is unfazed. It's an X3D CPU, so you mainly get it for gaming, due to its 3D Vcache memory. Don't start writing that it takes 10 seconds longer to render videos... That's all.

  • Pros:
    -Incredible Processor for Gaming
-For those who care about performance in applications outside of Games, it has improved significantly compared to the 7800X3D
-It doesn't have high power consumption
    -Unlocked overclocking for enthusiasts
-In case of need, it has an iGPU

    Cons:
-High price as long as the 7800x3D is still on the market. 1 to 4% difference in performance in Games, not worth a 100€ price difference. Of course, there is about a 15% difference in Apps.
-If you don't care about Games, it is NOT a good choice at all.

  • If your monitor is 1080p/1440p, prefer it.

  • At this moment it is the best processor for gaming, extreme performance, and if you get it at a good price you are smart.
