It truly illuminates the unconscious, as it is not what many (even psychologists...) believe it to be... Really enlightening! Not randomly, at some Italian universities, it is part of the curriculum of university courses.

Description & Specifications

Our era is at risk of becoming the era of the disappearance of the unconscious. The ideal of the principle of performance has emerged as a new social mandate. An anthropological mutation has downgraded human reality to the reality of a machine that must constantly prove its effectiveness. It is a great wave that today seems to have reached the shore. The myth of personal success has risen as a new social norm.

Adapting to the system entails a homogeneous idea of happiness that must be shared on a social level without leaving room for criticism. The euphoric hyper-activism that permeates the capitalist discourse outlines a new form of humanity that would like to exorcise discomfort and pain in the name of a prosperity, the right to which cannot be disputed.

In this book, the reader can find a warm defense of the unconscious, a radical re-reading of it, a manifesto of psychoanalysis, which demonstrates its superiority against the new data that are "imposed" by the progress of neuroscience, the use of psychotropic drugs, and brief psychotherapies.
