What do monsters look like in our time? Who is talking about monsters today? Who is asking about them and who is answering? What answers do they have to give? What does a book about some movie monsters look like? How do monsters appear outside the boundaries of cinema? And what do monsters have to show us?
This edition gathers responses to a series of such questions: texts composed by people and/or machines, monstrous representations of creatures that escape common sight but reside in the collective imagination, reinterpretations of concerns from a certain interpretive perspective, as well as from artificial intelligence.
At times in the first-person plural and at other times in the third-person singular, a discourse about monsters emerges more relevant than ever. The illustration of this edition was created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and more specifically through a series of explorations in ChatGPT regarding the films of the central feature of the 65th International Film Festival titled We, the Monster.
