What we call "Savvopoulos" does not exist. Savvopoulos is a role that I slowly created over the years: The guy with the round glasses, the suspenders, later the little beard, who comes out on stage, makes these songs, makes comments and tells stories. He is "Savvo", as the late Tasos Falireas used to call him. He is someone else. I am me. Many times I hide inside that other one. He is mine. Without me, he would be just empty air.
But now I need him, because I have grown older and I would like to see how I was as a kid, how I behaved in my professional life, how I was as a husband, father and grandfather, and also how I was as a citizen, as a friend and as a son. In these things, Savvo is good. He’s got it. As a role, he’s had both success and experience.
Now the role will speak about its creator. It’s a game. A trick. I hope you find it entertaining.
In this book, Savvopoulos talks about Nionios. That’s who he dresses up as.
Enjoy listening, my dear friends, enjoy reading.
