I bought them as part of dealing with a plantar fasciitis problem, following a high rating on a foreign website (runrepeat) that also evaluates the suitability of shoes for this condition.
They definitely absorb shocks and support my weight (100 kg) better.
It is very convenient for me that they do not have regular laces.
Although they are of an "open" type and have good breathability, they still keep the foot temperature well and I will not suffer in winter.
Unlike the New Balance 530 that I bought for the same reason, where I walk and can almost feel the air on my toes. Excellent for summer, problematic for winter.
The R-6000 achieves a very good balance.
However, one needs to get used to them. I have always worn flat tennis-style athletic shoes, and the difference in height between the heel and the front of the foot - as running shoes have, AND as is recommended in the case of plantar fasciitis so that the sole "works" less / is less strained during walking - does not always feel helpful to me.
...specifically,
a) because in this condition the pain is not focused, but the inflammation affects the rest of the foot at intervals (sideways, higher up, on the side, etc.), this curve makes me feel more pressure in the middle of the foot, which is the most uncomfortable point in the pain focus.
b) because the heel is higher, they become more uncomfortable when I sit in a chair, where I spend a large part of the day for work and reading. In this position it is more comfortable for the whole foot to rest evenly; otherwise pressure/tension builds up.
...and because of the condition I cannot stretch my legs out in front of me resting them on the heel, because then that is the fastest way to intensify the discomfort.
c) this extra pressure on the front toes due to the internal slope/height difference of the sole on the inside also does not help at all when standing.
...clearly I want less pressure on the heel and the middle of the sole, but in this case the degree of cushioning and the thickness of the sole help more than the internal slope, which makes them more uncomfortable.
OVERALL
- They seem high-quality and durable, while also being lightweight.
- They are practical because they do not have regular laces,
- they have good cushioning,
- they maintain a good balance between foot ventilation and temperature retention, for colder days
- the difference in sole height back-to-front may be recommended for walking in this condition, but when standing and using them in an office they become more uncomfortable.
