This aid is based on the concise textbook "Physiology" (Editions "Despina Kyriakidi", eighth edition, 2014) and the questionnaire "Physiology: critical approach questions on the subject matter of Physiology" and is aimed at the reader of the specific textbook to help them better utilize the information contained in it; to focus their attention on the key concepts of the various topics presented.

Thus, for each topic, key words or phrases are highlighted at the beginning of the text, along with concise tables/diagrams or summaries, while the text itself often does not have the depth found in the corresponding concise textbook of Physiology. The rough skeleton of each topic is provided. The core areas around which the specific information revolves are emphasized. Additionally, paragraphs of the text with particular significance are printed in bold.

Finally, at the end of each topic, some indicative questions are provided for self-assessment of the understanding of the topic and consolidation of knowledge; however, the answers to some of these require additional, more detailed information found in the concise Physiology. (The total number of questions and sub-questions amounts to approximately 1,600).

The concise textbook of Physiology, apart from the more extensive development of each topic, contains detailed tables, many more images, a rich bibliography (providing the reader the opportunity to refer to it for specific, detailed information), an extremely detailed index, and additional chapters, such as the sensory organs, animal behavior physiology, and the influence of environmental pollutants or contaminants on physiological functions.

Finally, the scientific terms are also presented in English. This aid is, therefore, supplementary to the concise Physiology, of which it constitutes processed material. Consequently, it cannot replace it. And of course, no textbook or other bibliographic source or any visual aid can replace an inspired Teacher who approaches the subject matter of their specialty in a dialectical way and with a critical spirit.
