When the small pieces of a broken, magical mirror enter the heart and eyes of little Kai, he forgets all his loved ones, especially his friend Gerda. This is how he takes his sled and follows the Snow Queen, ending up imprisoned in her palace, with his heart frozen.

Gerda reaches the edge of the world to find him and, when that moment finally comes, her tears melt the ice inside him. Kai regains his memory and his emotions, and together they return home to care for their beloved roses.
