Description

International organizations have historically been the arena where Greece engages with other states — sometimes to support its values and interests, and sometimes to draw support in times of challenges. From the UN and the European Union to NATO, the OECD, the Council of Europe, and the OSCE, the Greek presence has been active, complex, and revealing of how a small country can meaningfully participate in shaping international developments.

Despite this long trajectory, Greece's participation in international organizations has not yet been the subject of a comprehensive and systematic study. This book aims to fill the gap, highlighting the multiple aspects and challenges of Greek foreign policy through the lens of international organization and institutional multilateralism.

With the contribution of academics and researchers from various fields of expertise, as well as the participation of representatives and specialists experienced in international organizations, this work offers a polyphonic and well-documented approach to how diplomacy is conducted within the framework of global governance.

A study that combines scientific analysis with practical knowledge and makes a substantial contribution to the public debate on Greece's position and role in the contemporary world.
