The result of many years of research in the three institutions preserving the archive of C.P. Cavafy (the Cavafy Archive of the Onassis Foundation, which holds the main body of material, the Papoutsakis Archive of the Greek Literary and Historical Archive, and the Historical Archives of the Benaki Museum), this edition, edited by Catalan Hellenist and Cavafy scholar Eusebi Ayensa, presents, in a luxurious volume, the entire poetic oeuvre of the Alexandrian, following the original texts much more closely and incorporating all the poet's corrections, both in manuscripts and in the pamphlets he printed during his lifetime in various printers of Alexandria.

The extensive notes include abundant unpublished material —first versions of well-known poems, comments by C.P. Cavafy on his own poems, etc.— coming to light for the first time, and enriched with the most significant new bibliographical contributions to the work of arguably the greatest modern Greek poet.
