Mapesil AC silicone by Mapei is a one-component, acetoxy-curing sealant for joints in glass, ceramic tiles and anodised aluminium. The elastic thixotropic paste can be applied to horizontal and vertical surfaces and cures through exposure to atmospheric moisture. It is suitable for expansion joints with movement of up to ±25% of their original size.
It contains anti-mould and antibacterial agents and can also be used, after priming with Primer FD, on concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastic and rubber. It is also suitable for flexible gaskets between building elements and for sealing joints in areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and swimming pools, as well as in glazing, window and door frames, tanks and pipes.
