The hero, without a future, wanders through Chalkida, Athens, and Agios Konstantinos… He takes on whatever job he can to survive; he only needs a piece of bread and a roof to protect him from the night and the storm. He becomes a shoeshiner, an accountant, an actor, a traveling bookseller. It is through this that he meets the writer Yiannis Skarimpas, with whom he becomes a brotherly friend.
For him, as well as for Skarimpas, the driving force is love; love for books and for Alice. He seeks the truths that will free him, wandering – chasing the winds...
“Love is like the water that flows... it flows... thoughtlessly down the cliffs, choosing no channel, asking nothing of the flowers it waters, nor of the pebbles it tumbles over. It asks nothing, it simply flows. To say 'no' to love is like scowling in front of a flower that is about to bloom. It’s like cursing the light that showed you the world.”
“... Loundemis wrote as he breathed, he never stopped... Almost each of his books is a testament from his long odyssey in the spaces of exile – both inside and outside Greece.” Stratis Tsirkas
