What does psychoanalysis say about women?
Freud, in his correspondence with Marie Bonaparte, noted: "The big question remains unanswered. A question to which I myself could not answer, even though I have been studying the female soul for thirty years. This is: What does a woman want?"
Through the tone and questions he poses in the text, Freud describes the dark continent of female sexuality.

Simone de Beauvoir wrote that one is not born a woman, but becomes one. Freud considers the same, as what is described is nothing more than a becoming-woman of the little girl.
