The Up-Down Neighborhood is no ordinary neighborhood. The children who live there don’t have kittens and puppies, but striped rhinoceroses and purple anteaters, while the chimneys change color from time to time and the kiosks sell anemones and sweet peppers.

In this neighborhood lives Danae with her anteater, Fagouf. One day, when seven mysterious Chinese appear in the neighborhood, an exciting adventure begins that leads Danae and Fagouf on the trail of Serpendil, the flying dragon, and Ting-A-Ling, the Chinese princess who has been transformed into a doll by a witch.
