It is October. Winter has already spread like a gray frozen veil over the city, over the idyllic countryside – and over the naked body of the seventeen-year-old girl, who has been murdered and placed reverently on a mattress of owl feathers, with a blonde wig and a flower in her mouth, surrounded by candles.

  • Much better than the Frozen Angel. You get a better picture of Mia (it also seems to me that it focuses more on her psyche rather than Holger's). The story is more cohesive compared to the first one and when you finish it you want to read the next one right away. Addictive (maybe I was also in a better reading mood compared to when I read the first one)

The frozen angel was very good. This one, not so much. It drags until page 401. From there on, it starts to say something until the final climax!

The story is good, it's just that the many details and slow narration make the reader bored.

  • Another very powerful story that, however, unfolds slowly, lacks a particular plot, and intense action only happens at the end. It is the second book in the series featuring the head of the Homicide Division, Holger Munch. It is worth reading in order for the reader to have continuity in the life of the main character, as well as the other characters that appear in Samuel Bjork's books.

This review is about the book: Frozen Angel

Powerful crime novel from the first page. It is read without interruption and does not have any dull moments. I really liked its structure, its plot, and its twists! It is my first encounter with the leader of the Homicide Division, Holger Munch, who moves in a completely different trajectory as an inspector compared to his compatriot, Harry Hole, from Jo Nesbo. Highly recommended!

Description & Specifications

It is October. Winter has already spread like a gray frozen veil over the city, over the idyllic countryside – and over the naked body of the seventeen-year-old girl, who has been murdered and placed reverently on a mattress of owl feathers, with a blonde wig and a flower in her mouth, surrounded by candles.

The head of the Homicide Department, Holger Munk, and his rebellious, melancholic partner, Mia Kruger, are completely unprepared for the horror they will face. What is happening is beyond all imagination – it is the work of a deranged mind.

The killer must be found. Immediately. Because otherwise… he will do it again.

THE OWL is the second book in the series featuring Holger Munk and Mia Kruger, following THE FROZEN ANGEL. IT IS RELEASED IN 30 COUNTRIES.
