Description

Description

The present monograph on the work of Dion. Solomos is part of a research project dedicated to the interpretative approach to the aesthetic issue of representation and its literary parameters in 19th century Neo-Hellenic literature, with guiding historical and cultural axes centered on Athens and the Ionian Islands.

Representation, understood as a process of artistic-literary transformation of reality, is studied within the context of the aforementioned research project in two contrasting versions that hold particular significance for 19th century Neo-Hellenic literature: verisimilitude and imagination, considered in the context of defining spiritual, aesthetic, and broader artistic movements such as Neoclassicism and Romanticism, respectively.
