The program designed and developed by Elli Trimis throughout her years of teaching in schools with young children has been processed and organized over the years into a multifaceted, polyphonic, and highly interesting training program for educators. It is not only the first of its kind in our country but also an exceptionally original and creative program of aesthetic education, even today.
The systematic documentation and critical presentation of this work in a scientific paper would be very useful for all those interested in and teaching art to young children or for their teachers.
In this program, as is evident in the book you hold in your hands, the variety of methods, materials, artistic approaches, and activities that Trimis carried out with her young students is captured: all kinds of painting and drawing (markers, mixed techniques), constructions, collages, plastic arts, prints, engraving...
What makes Maria Papadopoulou's work even more interesting is not so much the scientific presentation and publication of Trimis's work (which is certainly useful to us), and which hundreds of kindergarten teachers and educators already know and apply with varying degrees of fidelity and success. It is the evaluation of this program through the voices of Trimis's own students with whom the author met and spoke.
