Description & Specifications

IN THE PRESENT BOOK, an interdisciplinary approach to Didactics and Social Marketing is attempted, in an effort to shape an alternative perspective on Instructional Design through the construction of a new Instructional Design Model, the "Systemic Instructional Design Model" (SIDM).

The "Systemic Instructional Design Model" highlights teaching as an inherently and externally mutually reinforcing endeavor. In this context, the "Strengths" of the instructional micro-environment are sought and utilized to improve its "Weaknesses," while identifying the "Opportunities" of the instructional macro-environment to address potential "Threats."

A key feature of this new model is the systemic transformation of in-school and out-of-school instructional parameters to promote collaboration between them for achieving more effective teaching. Within the functionality of this model, the educator takes on the role of an alternative transformer, motivator, and promoter, while the role of the student is not inactive. The student is perceived as a co-motivator, co-helper, and co-promoter of the teaching process.

IOANNIS FIKARIS is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Primary Education at the University of Ioannina, specializing in "Teaching Methodology."
