Distance education using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) plays a significant role in the professional development of educators, as it can crucially help overcome many barriers faced by educators as adult learners, ensuring flexibility in space, time, and pace of learning.
The aim of this collective volume is to highlight good practices in distance professional development for educators, with an emphasis on the pedagogical use of ICT. The 19 authors who contributed to the creation of this collective volume are faculty members and young researchers from the University of Crete, the Aegean University, the Democritus University of Thrace, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Hellenic Open University, and the Open University of Cyprus.
The chapters are published in the collective volume after a process of anonymous peer review and concern good practices in distance professional development for educators using ICT. The collective volume is aimed at educators at all levels, trainers of educators, researchers, designers, and managers of academic and training programs who wish to utilize advanced learning technologies in their offered training programs.
