Description

Description

The core of the myth of "The Metamorphosis" is as simple as it is incomprehensible: Gregor Samsa, an ordinary man, wakes up one morning transformed into an insect.

With this premise and through the eyes of the insect-hero, Kafka sets up a purely realistic story, an absolutely believable psychological experiment, underscored by a multitude of painfully precise details in the description of people and things.

Masterfully, Kafka not only unravels the anxieties, guilt, and alienation of the modern man, but also manages to translate this drab and meaningless existence into matter, into physical form.

Review this product
  • Paper quality
  • Was it easy to read?
  • Was it interesting enough?
  • I liked the writing style
  • I would read a book by the same author
  • I would recommend it for reading
  • Excellent book.

So simply written with so many meanings and frighteningly relevant.

    For me, Kafka's best.

After all, it is also one of those that was published with his consent.

  • Gregor wakes up one morning and has transformed into a gigantic insect. The protagonist was the one who worked for his family and supported them financially. But when this accident happened to him, his family showed their true colors and as the days went by, they treated Gregor as a burden until they began to mistreat him. Due to his transformation, Gregor could not communicate verbally with his family and so, day by day, he began to "fade away"....
It is a heavy book with many meanings and it will definitely leave you shocked.
All of the above is an allegory for how a person is treated and their value is measured only by what they can offer socially. But when that suddenly stops, society treats them as useless, abandons them, and lets them slowly die since they are no longer useful... everyone can draw their own additional conclusions by reading it.

  • It depicts how people mostly focus on appearances and not on the soul and kindness. Small booklet and the writing style is simple, understandable. I liked it and I didn't get bored, I read it in one day.
