Fifty years after the death of Nikos Nikolaidis, a new perspective and reassessment of his literary and artistic work is being attempted.
The Eastern orientation, irony, and the myth of Faust, the narrative structure of the texts and their metaphorical language, the disabled body and social difference, the allegories of transgression and the symbolic dimensions of place, the author's tenure in aesthetics, oral and written tradition, and his connection to Alexandrian Letters and Seferis (based on letters to Stefo Parga) are the main themes explored in the works of this book.
The volume is completed with references to the persona and the artistic work of N. Nikolaidis and selected bibliography.
