Description

This volume includes studies that, for the most part, were the subject of interdisciplinary discussion in a preliminary form at the conference organized by the Department of Social and Educational Policy of the University of Peloponnese in collaboration with the Center for European Constitutional Law - Themistocles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation on December 16-17, 2005, aiming at an initial assessment of the recent reform project in the field of immigration policy in Greece.

The studies investigate its ideological directions, the justificatory contexts, the institutional pending issues, as well as the economic, political, and social dimensions of immigration policy.

From this perspective, the reform project is connected with the substantive content of the rights and obligations of foreigners, as well as with the reflection on the concept of democratic participation of all members of the political community.
