Through this correspondence, with the inevitable self-censorship on both sides, moments from the lives of the correspondents emerge. Once again, the thread of Seferis' life unfolds: politics, poetic creation, people, friendships and enmities, broken relationships and sorrows: language, the human fate tightly bound with realized History, the "folly" of politicians.

But there is also the fate of places, places within the tentacles of time: Greece, Byzantium, Cyprus... Seferis; the Seferis we know. Who speaks with the heavy, deep, contemplative voice of a teacher about what would be worth searching for and touching upon while descending alone into that crooked path of "within".
