The scientist, to the extent that they produce scientific work, is a factor in cultural formation, positively or negatively influencing the evolution of the social structure.

Because of this role, they cannot imply and invoke the neutrality of science, remaining outside the shaping of the respective theological or social reality.

What scholars of the history of sciences know very well is that: the end of a major scientific revolution heralds the beginning of significant social upheavals.

In times of great cultural crisis, as well as in other similar periods, the scientist must dare to be a strong arm in overcoming the crisis, expressing themselves freely on all levels, regardless of the social and professional cost which can often be enormous.
