Seventy years after the death of Konstantinos P. Kavafis, it is noted that - besides the multiple translations of his poems into many languages - the poet himself has a satisfactory body of prose and other texts in the English language, from which the texts of this edition have been drawn.
The important thing in Kavafis' case is that he wrote them himself in English, with some of his articles published in magazines in London and in English-speaking Alexandria, while others were presented for the first time in 1963.
Three of these texts were presented by me in 1989 in the book "ELGIN MARBLES - THE CYPRUS ISSUE" (published by GAVRILIDIS). Today, in 2002, these significant texts are being published through the generous gesture of George Spiliotis.
They touch upon two major themes: The Elgin Marbles, and the Cyprus Issue, despite being written and published in the late 19th century.
