The fourth volume includes, on the one hand, aspects of Byzantine influence that have managed to survive to this day in various parts of the world, and on the other hand, certain "auxiliary sciences" that promote the study and research of the Byzantine era. The same function is performed by the chronological tables presented at the end as an introduction to the next volumes.
