They say that genius is very close to madness. Indeed, several great artists ended up in institutions with questionable therapeutic value. However, in the life of Yiannoulis Halepas, perhaps the most significant modern Greek sculptor, there are not only a hopeful spring and a descent into hell. There is also an unexpected resurrection, an unanticipated re-emergence of genius, which even gave us works that are much more personal than the old ones. His tormented life, even after the rekindling of creativity, is what has touched us so deeply, which is why we tried to convey it in images. Some believe that Halepas is somewhat of a saint. Who knows? What is certain is that his story is unlike any other.
