This volume contains the "German Ideology" by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels - an important work written together by the founders of Marxism in 1845 and 1846 - and the text "True Socialists," which was written by Engels between January and April of 1847. The latter is a continuation of the "German Ideology".

The texts compiled here belong to the period when scientific communism was developing and represent an important milestone in the evolution of the philosophical and theoretical foundations of the Marxist party.

In the "German Ideology," Marx and Engels presented and demonstrated the position that the social being of individuals determines their social consciousness and showed the decisive role that the mode of production plays in the entire social life of people.
