Vitex Superbond Primer is based on acrylic resins and quartz sand, creating a rough surface for improved adhesion. It can be applied to plasterboard and masonry, as well as smooth or low-absorbency surfaces such as exposed concrete, tiles, marble, mosaic, metal surfaces, cement boards, and polystyrene insulation boards. It is used as a primer before applying tile primers, skim-coating painted or very smooth surfaces, plastering exposed concrete or insulation boards, and applying polished cement mortar.
It is ready to use and is applied in one coat with a roller or brush, without dilution. If necessary, dilute with up to 5% water. Stirring before use helps create a homogeneous mixture. The surface must be clean, dry, and smooth, and free of dust, oil, and loose material. Do not apply at temperatures below 5 °C or above 35 °C, or at relative humidity above 80%. It is touch-dry in 2–3 hours, while plaster or cement mortar can be applied after 6–8 hours. Clean tools immediately after use with water and, if necessary, soap or detergent.
