Description

Description

Atkins' "Physical Chemistry" is perhaps the most widely recognized undergraduate textbook in its field internationally.

The presentation of concepts is done in a simple manner, without overlooking scientific rigor, thus giving the reader the ability to understand fundamental concepts necessary for further study.

The numerous examples, solved exercises, and the rich collection of unsolved problems all contribute in this direction.

The first volume deals with the concepts of Thermodynamics. The material is presented in twelve chapters, divided into three main sections: The laws of Thermodynamics and their applications, phase changes, and Electrochemistry.

In the introductory chapter, there is a first acquaintance with the basic concepts, and the kinetic theory of gases is developed, while the 4th chapter refers to Thermochemistry.

This edition aims to fill a significant gap in our university literature.

    Very interesting book!
The problem is that it does not have answers or solutions for the existing exercises at the end of the book. The answers are available on the suggested website from the book (as a PDF file) but only for the exercises with an odd number.
Other than that, it is highly explanatory in all the theory and proofs of the relationships.

    • Was it interesting enough?
    • I liked the writing style
    • I would read a book by the same author
    • I might recommend it for reading
