The Marxist Political Economy is a critical theory of capitalism. It differs from Neoclassical Economic Theory in terms of the scientific questions posed for exploration, the assumptions, the method of analysis, and the conclusions.
The relevance of Marxian Economics is confirmed by the ongoing search for social change. Neoclassical Economics has not provided solutions to the problems accumulated by capitalism, such as unemployment, poverty, inequality, crises, and environmental destruction.
The demands of socialism for equality, social justice, democratic participation, and freedom continue to be general social demands today. The texts of Marxist analysis included in this book address, in contrast to neoclassical theory, the following topics: value, profit and prices, capitalist development and technological change, labor relations, economic crises, inflation, monopoly capitalism, the state, international trade, uneven international development, economic integration, socialism-communism.
