The antistatic coating repels dust, while the surface is water-repellent and stain-resistant.

The filter has a one-piece, low-profile aluminum frame that keeps the glass parallel to the sensor plane and limits vignetting on ultra-wide-angle lenses. The glass is made in Japan from silicate materials.
