The texts of this volume aim to approach the thought of K. Kasotriadis in relation to today's political and social situation, to analyze the often misunderstood and distorted - from its inception in ancient Greece to the present day - concept of democracy.

Their purpose is to determine the philosopher's contribution to the emergence of democracy as a fundamental element of the project of autonomy, and to also compare his ideas with those of other thinkers who are inspired by the idea of political change.

Points of convergence and divergence are highlighted, emphasizing the significance of an important work for the difficult situation contemporary societies are experiencing.
