The Primasem freesia bulb produces double, fragrant purple flowers in one-sided clusters on elongated stems. Plant it in autumn, and it will bloom in spring, approximately 12–13 weeks after planting. This perennial plant can grow up to 30 cm tall.
Freesias need well-drained soil, regular watering, and at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day. They are sensitive to very low temperatures and are not suitable for areas where temperatures fall below 0 °C. After flowering, once the leaves have dried, the bulbs can be dug up and stored in a dry, dark place until autumn.
