Speaking of "places of power" in Greece, our thoughts automatically go to the classic, institutional places of authority, that is, where politics and state power is exercised in real terms: the Maximos Mansion, primarily, but also the Hellenic Parliament, the Presidential Mansion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and even the Bank of Greece. However, power is exercised, manifested, and projected in other, less expected venues, sometimes without the heavy institutionalism, but with strong symbolism and implications.
For example, think of the offices of publishing groups, or emblematic cultural spaces such as the Athens Concert Hall, perhaps even the official stands at stadiums or the prime minister's airplane and the vacation spots of prime ministers, where events unfolded that are little known to the public and wrote what we call the "small history" of modern Greece, particularly from 1974 to the present.
The authors of the texts on "places of power" in Greece are among the best journalistic talents in the country. Together, they form an impressive collection of credibility and reliability, characteristics that they generously offer to this publication, making it extremely interesting to read.
