for me boring, nice idea conception for the plot but boring writing, the genre did not suit me, excessive analyses

Having read most of Läckberg's books, I can say that this one did not particularly impress me. Although it touches on important issues such as domestic violence, drug trafficking, and economic corruption, I believe that the unnecessary verbosity with parallel unfolding stories (as she is accustomed to in her books but with a different mastery) made me lose the essence of the plot. However, I liked the way she presented the end of the book, although it would not be the first book I would recommend to someone who has not read this author again.

A captivating mystery book by the master of Scandinavian literature, with a fantastic character development, a twist ending with plenty of action scenes, and vivid storytelling. I highly recommend it!

I have read the entire series with Patrick and Erica, I liked them very much, this may have been the least good of the rest, but I love Lackberg very much!

I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves Scandinavian crime literature.

Stories intertwine over the decades and in the end they come together artistically in a tragic and captivating way. Next-door heroes who seem strange at first glance, but who, in my opinion, are the crucial element that makes this book stand up to great authors of detective novels. One important element that stood out to me is that the author does not try to impress the reader with exaggerated action scenes, nor does she pull the plot out of thin air to make it appear complex. Instead, she successfully portrays the characters and gives them a distinct role in the plot. There were moments when I laughed at some dialogues or scenes, others when I was disturbed and anxious about what would happen on the next page. It was a book that held my interest and I would easily read it again. It was read in one breath and that says it all!
