It can be applied at temperatures between 10 °C and 40 °C, but changes in reaction time and application properties should be taken into account. The optimal substrate and sealant temperature ranges between 15 °C and 25 °C. Sikaflex®-291i can be applied with a manual, pneumatic, or electric gun.

Sikaflex®-291i is a one-component polyurethane sealant, non-sag, specially designed for marine applications, which cures with atmospheric moisture. It also meets the slow fire propagation criteria of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). Uses Sikaflex®-291i is a multi-purpose product for marine applications. It is suitable for forming elastic, vibration-resistant joints and can also be used for a variety of interior and exterior sealing applications. Sikaflex®-291i has excellent adhesion to common materials used in marine construction such as wood, metals, metal primers and coatings (2-component), ceramic materials, and plastics (GRP, etc.). It should not be used for sealing plastics that are prone to stress cracking (e.g. Plexiglas, polycarbonates, etc.). The product is intended for use by professional applicators. Tests should be carried out with actual substrates and exact application conditions to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.
