Sika's Sikaflex-291i sealant is a one-component polyurethane material designed for sealing and bonding in marine applications. It cures with atmospheric moisture and forms elastic joints that withstand movement and vibration. Suitable for interior and exterior use, it can also be painted.
It adheres to wood, metals, primers, two-component paints, ceramics and plastics used in marine construction. It is not recommended for plastics prone to stress cracking, such as Plexiglas and polycarbonate. It is resistant to fresh and seawater, diluted acids and caustic solutions, and temporarily resistant to fuels, mineral oils, and vegetable or animal fats. It meets the International Maritime Organization (IMO) criteria for low flame spread.
